The world of EVs is more exciting than ever. The first EV trucks are set to arrive sometime this year. Iconic names are also going electric. And there are exciting newcomers hitting the scene too. Here’s what you can expect.
Ford Mustang Mach-E
Ford stunned the world when it announced this car. The all-new Mustang Mach-E First Edition should be priced around $58,000 and is expected to go 270 miles on a single charge. There will be less expensive select trim with a 230 miles range as well.
Tesla Cybertruck
The dystopian-looking Cybertruck will have dual- and tri-motor versions with all-wheel drive. Their range will be 300 and 500 miles, respectively. Let’s hope people aren’t tempted to test its windows when they spot it out on the street.
Rivian R1T
Rivian received an order for thousands of EVs from Amazon years before it was even ready to deliver its first vehicle. But, this exciting newcomer will release the R1T pickup truck this year. An electric pickup. Let that sink in.
GMC Hummer EV
Discontinued no more. The Hummer is back, and it’s not a gas-guzzler anymore. This huge EV will go 350 miles on a full charge, and its six-figure Edition 1 is already sold out.
Mercedes EQA
Mercedes-Benz will finally release some electric cars here. The EQA compact electric SUV is expected to arrive by the end of the year. It is expected to be an affordable option to the Tesla Model Y. An electric sedan will soon follow.
Nissan Ariya
The Nissan Leaf proved that EVs are good. Now Nissan is driving in its first electric compact SUV, the sleek and spacious Ariya that will go 300 miles on a full charge. Its expected price is $40,000.
VW ID.4
This one may trouble Tesla. It’s VW’s first big all-electric SUV that’s quite reasonably priced. It’s higher-trim with a big touch-screen, panoramic sunroof, and 20-inch wheels is sold out already.
Volvo XC40 Recharge
Volvo’s first all-electric SUV looks just like the regular XC40, but it has an electric battery and motor that should give it a 200-mile range on a single charge. It also has fast charging and is packed with user-friendly tech.
